Building a Discipling Culture
My dream is that we catch a vision that God is opening opportunities for all of us to be part of disciple making.

Matt 13:31-33
It all starts though with each of us willing to be responsible for our growth in Christ and willingness to be involved in the growth of others.
With our building project, we have run into a few minor issues with the plumbing, partly due to the fact that the plans we had were not detailed enough for the plumber. Ben picked this up and we have been able to rectify the situation. But it highlights that plans are important to build well.
One of the things we have been working on as a leadership and church has been “Building a Discipling Culture.” In our vision statement we have “Sowing and Growing the Good News of Jesus Christ", and our vision, “Making disciples who multiply.”
This may all sound like good work but our intent as a leadership is to see our church family actively engaged in their discipling journey and seeking to help others also come to know and grow in the Lord. Each person playing a part.
Building a Discipling Culture can be unpacked in this way:
· Building includes intent, plans, pathways and mindset.
· Clear picture of what a disciple looks like
· Culture is our way of thinking, expressing and doing things based on our values and beliefs.
It all starts though with each of us willing to be responsible for our growth in Christ and willingness to be involved in the growth of others. From evangelism to maturity in Christ.
Some of us have been part of a discipling course (BDC) which involved almost 2 years of encouragement, teaching, equipping, accountability, and mobilising in disciple making.
My dream is not that everyone must do the BDC course, though we will be looking at inviting others to join. My dream, however, is that we catch a vison that God is opening opportunities for all of us to be part of disciple making. Each of us prayerfully and intentionally responding to Christ in our own walk and into the walk of others.
Like yeast, we share the Good News of Christ which works its way through all the relationships around us.
“He told them still another parable: The Kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into about thirty kilograms of flour until it worked all through the dough” (Matt 13:33)
May God encourage and bless you.
