We live in a discouraging world. TV adverts are designed to make us feel bad about ourselves and better if we buy their product, and social media screams out our comparative inadequacies. Depression and disillusionment are epidemic in our society. If ever we needed genuine encouragement, it is now.

Fortunately, God’s Word is a vital source of encouragement, providing endurance, hope and certainty in God’s promises.

“For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope”. (Rom 15:4 NIV)
