Pray Big Prayers
Today we will look at the big prayer in Ephesians 3. I encourage to pray this prayer for one another.
While it is true the Holy Spirit does gift some people specially in this way, it is also true that each of us can exercise faith and pray big prayers.
George Muller is well known for his orphanage and his prayer life. He was one of the founders of the Open Brethren. He cared for 10,024 orphans during his lifetime and provided educational opportunities for the orphans to the point that he was even accused by some of raising the poor above their natural station in British life. He established 117 schools which offered Christian education to more than 120,000.
Muller prayed about everything and expected God to answer. Once the heating boiler broke down. The young orphans needed the orphanage heated. George prayed for two things: that the men hired would willingly work through the night and the weather would turn mild whilst the boiler was being fixed. Both parts of the prayer were answered. On another occasion there was not food for breakfast. He got the staff to seat the orphans for breakfast and prayed for their daily bread. Just as the prayer was finished there was a knock at the door, a baker had loaves he could not use and gave them to the orphanage.
Muller prayed big, audacious, faith-filled prayers and God answered. Muller had the spiritual gift of faith and prayer more than many other Christians. While it is true the Holy Spirit does gift some people specially in this way, it is also true that each of us can exercise faith and pray big prayers.
Today we will look at the big prayer in Ephesians 3 and you will have a copy to take home. I encourage you to pray this prayer for one another.
