Ready to Meet God

Have you ever waited a long time for something that was well worth the wait?

May, you, like Simeon, experience Christ's deep peace and joy, ready for whatever comes next.
When elderly Simeon finally held the infant Jesus in his arms at the temple, he knew his long wait was over (Luke 2:22-33). For years—perhaps decades—this righteous and devout man had prayed expectantly for Israel's Messiah, trusting God's personal promise that he would see Him before death. Guided by the Holy Spirit, Simeon arrived at just the right moment, recognized the humble baby as the Savior, and burst into prophetic praise:
“Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you may now dismiss your servant in peace. For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all nations: a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel.” (Luke 2:29-32)
Simeon was fulfilled. He had lived ready to meet Jesus in this life—and now he was ready to meet God in the next.
As you celebrate God breaking into our world as a humble baby this Christmas, may you be filled with the same faithful expectation upon God’s promises. Listen for the Spirit's nudge today. May you, like Simeon, experience Christ’s deep peace and joy, ready for whatever comes next.
