What joins us as a church family is Christ.

1 Corinthians 1:4-9
Keep living out the gospel daily, and giving thanks.
Each year since 2019, the church has dedicated in November, a service of Thanksgiving. This year, we are also celebrating our 55th Anniversary with our Thanksgiving service. Why do we stop to give thanks? Because thanksgiving needs to be cultivated. It needs to be intentionally nurtured and strengthened. Otherwise, our eyes can shift from Christ our foundation and the good things he brings.
As part of our annual Thanksgiving service, we have asked folk to write a short reflection of things they have been thankful for and collected them into a Thanksgiving Booklet. I pulled out these previous booklets along with 2025, to immerse myself in our story of thanks.
There have been recurring accounts of God’s faithfulness, carrying people through difficult seasons. There have been poems and songs describing the love of God and his goodness. People giving thanks for the church family who have prayed and stood with them in tough times. Stories of God’s provision and joy in breakthroughs. The praise of Christ our Saviour.
Paul writes
I always thank my God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus. For in him you have been enriched in every way—with all kinds of speech and knowledge—God thus confirming our testimony about Christ among you. Therefore, you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for the Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed. He will keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our
Lord. (1 Cor 1:4-9)
What joins us as a church family is Christ. I see Christ in you, working to make you more like him. I see Christ as you share and live out the gospel shaping lives of those around you. Your witness is real, authentic, and prayerful. I want to encourage you today as we give thanks to God. He will keep you firm to the end so rest in his love, power, and Word. Keep living out the gospel daily and give him thanks.
God bless
Pastor Stephen
